Our first independent project in Japan.

For our first production since arriving in Japan, we wanted to create a film that captured something deeply connected to the country’s culture and spirit.

We travelled to Matsunoo Taisha in Kyoto to film Gun Taiko’s performance during the Hassaku Festival. Their powerful drumming, movement, and energy gave us the opportunity to create a film that goes beyond simply documenting a performance — using cinematic imagery and editing to convey the atmosphere and emotion of experiencing it in person.
